Traveling in Korea.

Last week from the 19th March to the 24th, myself and around 20 students and three teachers went to Korea for Activity Week. I was extremely lucky to go and experience Korean culture through visiting landmarks such as the DMZ, participating in a Korean cooking class, buying cosmetics at Myeongdong and immersing myself into one of Korea's biggest and most popular interest- K-Pop.
After returning back home after my incredible trip, I have begun to reflect on not only the trip in particular, but also how travelling to other places and experiencing different cultures can impact a person, especially as this trip has impacted me deeply.
I recently read an article about travel blog commenting on a 2013 study done on the psychological effects of traveling. The results showed that travelling can actually improve and benefit five key areas of someone's personality: "emotions, extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, and openness to new experiences."
I really enjoyed learning about this study as it gave some real evidence supporting why travelling and experiencing new cultures can really benefit a person. Hopefully in the future I will be able to return to Korea and experience even more new things that I wasn't able to do the first time.
